Stillwell Avenue, Coney Island

A New York City Subway Station

The New York City Subway station at Stillwell Avenue in Coney Island is one of the world’s largest above-ground terminal facilities. The station was fully reconstructed between 2001 and 2005 with soaring, open elevations featuring Hope’s windows. Today, the station which had fallen into such disrepair in it’s first 90 years, is a model for the future as the most energy-efficient transit facility in the United States.
