Our Craftsmen
HANDCRAFTED EXCELLENCE BEGINS IN OUR HANDS
Hope’s meticulous manufacturing process and unrivaled artistry result in windows and doors of impeccable quality – and for good reason. We handcraft each window and door in the United States and back each with a stellar reputation for the finest quality.
The hands in “handcrafted” belong to the men and women of Ironworkers Shopmen’s Local 470 in Jamestown, New York. Chartered on July 16, 1934, it is the second oldest shop local still in existence today.
Hope’s has been designing and handcrafting hot-rolled steel and bronze windows and doors for more than a century, and we continue to refine the art that makes them the most luxurious and longest lasting in the world. The high performance requirements for each Hope’s product, customized for each project, requires our employees to have the skills of an artisan with unyielding attention to detail.
Walking through the door of our factory is like taking a step back in time as craftsmen use 100-year-old methods to give shape and form to raw steel and bronze. Every part is marked by hand and measured to within a few thousandths of an inch. Cutting, drilling, and straightening are done with precision machinery, a practiced hand, and an expert eye.
Each frame is also painted by hand following extensive pretreatments for maximum protection. Our hand-sprayed “Artistic Expression” finishes – named in recognition of the skills of those who apply them – realize the look of nature’s own patina with a premium finish that is unrivaled in color and durability.
Randy Manitta, President and CEO of Hope’s, attributes the enduring success of the company to a strong sense of teamwork. Hope’s has a remarkable number of long-term employees – many who have been with us for 20 years or more – who have lent their knowledge and expertise.
UP FOR THE CHALLENGE
“Our folks are accustomed to the variety we find from one project to the next and we never shy away from a challenge.”
Every project that Hope’s has been a part of attests to the shared value of excellence – shared between the ironworkers, engineers, management, ownership and other employees of a company always working to build a legacy of progress and innovation.
We invite you to visit our factory and see why nothing compares to the handcrafted American workmanship of a Hope’s window or door.
